Valley of the Gods, Utah

“Stay-at-Home” gave me opportunity to dig out some old pictures. We took the 12-day Northern Arizona trip in 2012 including Monument Valley and the Valley of Gods in Utah. I remember it was late in the afternoon after light rain when we drove through the dirt roads in the Valley. The sunset sky was brilliant and full of colors even showing the double rainbow for a brief period of time.

I think I was there for a little time when I drove a long way from where I was working (出差). And it was happening that Mazda was shooting a commercial video there, and I was blocked for not able to go in until they had finished. By then it was late and getting dark. I drove though it very quickly and left, probable had not even taken any pictures (depending on where it is, we may not be allowed to bring the camera at all if we stay in the Base).

    Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your interesting comments. They were indeed unusual brilliant colors, perhaps it wad the rain prior to the sunset that cleared up the sky the dust near the ground.

  3. Your images are glorious, Stephen. One of my favorite places that I was thrilled to finally see a number of years ago. Those rainbows were a gift! Great series.

Thank you and glad you liked these images. The combination of rain and sunset, in that order, seemed to be magical to produce such gorgeous natural scene. A little bit of luck to be at the right time and right place is always the photographer’s wish!
