I had an unusual bird scene on my deck this morning. First, a pair of downy woodpeckers showed up at the feeder and showed the feeding scenes. Shortly after they left a pair of red-bellied woodpeckers came along and showed the feeding actions. I have witnessed and photographed downy woodpeckers feeding scenes previously but it’s the first time seeing red-bellied woodpeckers in such actions. I’ve seen similar action of blue jays a week ago but did not capture with my camera. Hope they come back!
