My first post of images of Morning Light at Badlands were taken at Big Badlands Overlook. We went to Pinnacles Overlook for the sunrise photos on the second day. Again, we took advantage of the soft morning light with such angle to reflect the top […]

Spearfish Scenic Byway in Black Hills
On the way back from Devil’s Tower to Rapid City on our last day of 9-day photo tour we took the Spearfish Scenic Byway to view the fall foliage along this beautiful highway. We also got a chance to view and photograph Roughlock Water Falls.

Needles Highway (Route 87) near Custer, SD
We took a late afternoon drive on Needles Highway (Route 87) north of Custer Sate Park and really enjoyed viewing all the spires along the highway when the sunset light was reflected from the magnificent spires.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park – North Unit
We spent two days touring Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakoda recently. We were pleasantly surprised to find out the beauty of the landscape of the Park, especially the North Unit and with our luck the fall foliage of cottonwood and aspen trees really added […]

Devil’s Tower National Monument in Wyoming

Prairie Dogs
While in Badlands National Park last week we saw the prairie dogs in the natural environment for the first time (vs.in the zoo). They are such a cute creature! As it turned out we came across prairie dog towns not only in Badlands NP but […]

Morning Light at Badlands National Park, SD
We began our 9-day photo adventure trip yesterday by flying from Washington, DC to Rapid City, SD. Despite our late check in to our hotel at Wall last night, we got up early at 5:30 am this morning and drove 30 minutes to Big Badland […]

Morning Fog in Frederick
It was a foggy morning yesterday so I took a 10-minute quick drive to Worthington Farm, part of National Monocacy (Civil War) Battlefield in Frederick shortly after I got up and before sunrise. Unfortunately, the place was still closed (too early) but the foggy scenes […]
