I visited Japan many times and always in the fall for the beautiful foliage colors. These pictures were taken in Hokkaido, Towadako, Hirazumi, Shirakawa Village, etc. in the past.
Himeji Castle is the largest as well as the most beautiful castle in Japan. It is on the list of World Heritage sites.
This is “O-Torii Gate” of Itsukushima Shinto Shrine on Miyajima Island, a World Heritage Site. It is one of the reasons I am currently taking a tour of Western Honshu, Japan.
I visited this World Heritage Site last November (2013). The fall foliage colors were just beautiful and the light snow fell on top of trees the night before was just the “icing” on the cake!
