A pair of red-shouldered hawks have become regular visitors in my backyard woods. I missed the opportunity yesterday and decided to have my camera, lens and settings ready this morning. Sure enough, in the middle of my breakfast I heard the loud call of one of the hawks (and I could hear the call from the other hawk from distance but did not see it). The hawk stayed at least 20 minutes on the tree tops and gave me some great opportunities to shoot it in-flight when he/she was hopping from one tree to the other.
