Kaohsiung, in southern Taiwan was where I was born and grown up before I went to college and moved to USA. It used to be a dirty industry port city but has been transformed in the past decade to become a pleasant and beautiful city with many parks, beaches and restored harbor side restaurants and artist quarters.
