Taipei 101 can be seen just about anywhere from the City of Taipei but the view is best from Xiang-Shan (Mt. Elephant). Xiangshan Metro Station is on the southern most of red line but the climb of 300 meters straight up via many steps (about equivalent to the height of 101) is a bit challenging. Once up there, the view is awesome and rewarding.
