Cherry Blossom Beyond Tidal Basin

I have never experienced what we are going through these days in this country, the headlines on newspapers we read or TV we watch are always the spread of Coronavirus and the fall of stock markets. Seems like everything is being closed, the schools, the churches, the sport events, even many restaurants (McDonalds only open the drive through), etc. I decided to venture out yesterday morning to get a fresh spring air and enjoy the spring scenery. I revisited National Arboretum to see the beautiful cherry blossom especially the weeping cherry trees and magnolia gardens where petals on the grounds seemed to present nice photo opportunity. With many government and business workers teleworking from home Washington DC looked almost deserted and allowed me to snap a few pictures of cherry blossoms at the Capitol and Supreme Court. Hope you forget about Coronavirus for a while and enjoy these delightful spring scenes!

Thank you so much! To me, spring is the most beautiful season of the year here in Washington, DC!

  1. Thank you Stephen!! I’ve wandered slowly through the scenes; took the invitation to sit on that empty bench and enjoy a virtual visit. No better way to uplift the spirits in this time of gloom. The scenes are glorious and a reminder of spring’s new beginnings. The blossoms are fabulous and the wide angle, far DOF compositions so all encompassing.

Thank you so much for your comments – it just make my day! I’m so glad you enjoyed viewing these scenes just like I enjoyed snapping these images at the National Arboretum. I was surprised that my $89 wide angle lens I bought for my Olympus camera worked so well.
