On the way to McKee Beshers sunflower field the two days ago (7/22) and after the stop at horse ranch, I also stopped at the wetland on west end of McKee Beshers where we used to take some beautiful white egrets. Unfortunately, the open water areas are all filled with vegetation and therefore probably depleted the oxygen in the water killing fish, frogs, etc. and no visiting egrets anymore😞. Well, I found a spider web and strangely I noticed one of the birds was eating the web – as I Googled the Internet when coming home I understand the web is rich in protein and with high Vitamin K content. Spider sometimes eat it to recover the energy when making the web. Another thing, the small birds also use the web as glue for making there nests. Interesting !
