We visited Middle Creek to see and photograph snow geese earlier this week. Middle Creek is the stopping ground for many snow geese in the Eastern Shores area and farther South before they heading north to the Canadian Arctic’s, their breeding ground. The official estimated number of snow geese in the last few days was close to 100,000.

Yes, it’s really a thrill to see all the birds flying over the head after they took off. I did wear my hat though, just in case!
That’s a lot of birds! Although wonderful to see and hear I am just as glad that we don’t get those numbers here.
We happened to encounter the largest number that day,100,000 is a big number!
