Great Smoky Mountains National Park – November 7-8, 2022

We toured the Smoky Mountains Park for two days, primarily visiting Cades Cove and Clingmans Dome that we missed last year due to extreme high wind that forced the Park Service to close these two areas. The fall colors were almost all gone but we did enjoy seeing the “smokes” on the first day because of the light rain in the morning. We encountered quite a few black bears as we drove around the Cades Cove Loop. We visited Clingmans Dome on the second day and enjoyed viewing and photographing the gorgeous sunset. A big bonus was to see the moonrise as we were ready to leave after shooting the sunset scenes.
