Svolvaer, Nordland, Norway

Cityscape, Landscape, Photography

We selected Svolvaer as our base city for the week-long exploration of Lofoten Islands. With 4800 inhabitants It is the capital and gateway to Lofoten Islands. There are more hotels to choose from and more restaurants and cafe in the city but most important it has an airport connecting to Oslo and daily port stop by Hurtigruten transport ship. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and ocean water, and it provides many day trips for touring the nearby villages such as Reine and Henningsvaer.
