We took a driving fall foliage tour of Skyline Drive of Shenandoah National Park and northern portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway during the last week of October and ended up staying Peaks of Otter lodge at Mile Marker #86 of the Parkway. The feature image of this post was taken from our hotel room balcony in the morning – very nice view I’d say.

Beautiful, tranquil pictures, Stephen.
Thank you, Lynette. It was a very nice drive for viewing the fall colors. The nice colors are all gone now but I’m not quite ready for the snow.
It looks like the whole world turned orange ! So beautiful…
Thank you. Indeed, orange color dominated the scenes.
Nice collection of Skyline Drive autumn beauty, Stephen. I especially like those with fog. The next to last shot with the curvy branch is very nice.
Thank you. We came across all kinds of weather in three days. The misty rain and the fog on Blue Ridge Parkway was rough in driving but did have special conditions for photography. I told my wife the weather does not bother the real photographer! HaHa.
Thanks for sharing! I love Skyline Drive, though I haven’t driven it for 50 years!
You’re welcome! Since it only take two hours to drive over there, I go there at least twice a year, one in spring and second one in autumn.
