We just got back from a 5-day fall foliage photo tour to Blackwater Falls State Park, West Virginia. The Milky Way image was a unexpected shot taken before 9:00 pm on October 15. The sky condition was superb – very dark with little light pollution.
I took this Milky Way image over the Big Meadows of Shenandoah National Park on June 12, 2015. Scorpius can easily be identified on the right side of the image.
