Covered Bridges in Frederick County, MD

Landscape, Photography

Frederick County is the home of three out of eight covered bridges in the state of Maryland. All three covered bridges, namely, Utica, Loy’s Station and Roddy Road were built in mid- 1800’s and are on the National Register of Historical Places. All three are located near the town of Thurmont and I enjoyed photographing these structures surrounded by beautiful fall colors.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. It was indeed a joy to drive around the countryside during this time of the year – too bad it doesn’t last very long before the arrival of winter. —- Stephen

Thank you for your comments. I have been a Frederick resident since my retirement in 2003. I love Frederick and the surrounding areas and you at have found out I’ve had many postings about Frederick in this website (blog) already and will probably have more in the future.
