Shiprock of Navajo in New Mexico

Landscape, Photography

Shiprock near Farmington, New Mexico is a legendary and sacred symbol for the Navajo Nation. It means the Rock With Wings towering 1,700 feet above the valley floor and can be seen miles and miles away. There are so many ways at different times of day to photograph this majestic rock. I like this picture with dry grass as foreground at dusk during this time of the year. This is our first stop as we began our 10-day photo tour of New Mexico yesterday. Hopefully, I’ll have more photos to post in the next week of two.
