I went to Owl Moon Raptor Festival held at Black Hill Regional Park in Montgomery County, Maryland last Sunday. It was sponsored by Owl Moon Raptor Center, a state and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitation center specializing in birds of prey located in Boyds, Maryland. They displayed many species of owl, hawk and other bird of prey, all in captive. However, the Eurasian Owl (eagle) was the star of the show. It was quite exciting to see and photograph this amazing bird in such close range. I am still looking forward to shoot owl in the wild — but this was quite a treat!
