Landscape Photos of Blackwater NWR

Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Cambridge, Maryland is not only a great place for viewing the migrating birds like snow and Canada geese but also a great spot for landscape photography, especial at sunset and sunrise. Just for fun, I used Photoshop CS6’s oil paint option to convert some of straight shots. It does make the otherwise simple sky more dramatic! These are the pictures I’ve taken over the years I visited there.

  1. Brilliant photos and colours. From picture no 9 and onwards you seem too have used a technique reminiscent of
the use of palette knife on oils. How did you achieve this?

The Oil Paint filter in the Adobe Photoshop CS6 automatic does for you though there are a few parameters to play wit depending how you want the final product looks like. I normal like the nature look without playing with the filter but it’s for fun this time.
