While in Badlands National Park last week we saw the prairie dogs in the natural environment for the first time (vs.in the zoo). They are such a cute creature! As it turned out we came across prairie dog towns not only in Badlands NP but Custer State Park and Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

Beautiful pictures and the cutest animals. Didn’t know about prairiedogs, these are so lovely and to me look more like Meerkats.
Thank you! it was fun to photograph these cute animals. There are many prairie dog towns in this region even at Devil’s Tower in Wyoming.
