Madeira (Funchal), Portugal Island

We arrived in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal after tour three Spanish Canary Islands. The morning sun shining on the harbor and portion of the white houses on the hillside was simply gorgeous. We knew it’s going to be a splendid day to see the surroundings of Funchal. Madeira with almost constant temperature of 20-25 C. year round is a popular vacation spot in Europe for the rich vegetation and beaches. Again we hired a taxi to let the friendly driver give us excellent tour of the area.  Notably Cabo Girao, the highest sea cliff in Europe and the second highest in the world and Camara de Lobos, a little fishing village used by Sir Winston Churchill to create his beautiful island paintings.

  1. Hello ! Really nice memories of your journey to Madeira ! It seems you have enjoyed your stay. I’ve been there for a week and went home to Germany last week. The first pics I posted some days ago, and I will continue for quite a time, I guess. If you like to look at what I saw on the isle, this is the link: https://helgesfotoalbum.com/tag/madeira/ . You are welcome ! Best wishes, Helge
