Misty Great Falls of the Potomac River

The air temperature dipped to mid-40’s (7-8 degrees C.) while the water temperature in the River stayed in mid-70’s this morning. With temperature difference of about 30 degrees F. there is always good chance of seeing river mist (fog), so I decided to get up at six and fought an hour of rush hour traffic to get to the Virginia side of the Great Falls. Sure enough, there was thick and beautiful river mist on the River. The big bonus of seeing and photographing several brave kayakers coming down the big falls!
