We went to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens yesterday morning. It was very nice to hear the “Cicada Symphony” in the Gardens – they only have 4-6 weeks to find the mates to produce the next generations that will emerge 17 years later (2038). It was a hot day and as a bonus there were lots of dragonflies flying around the water lily ponds. I always enjoy taking photos of this creature.

How about these two pictures – it’s not a dragon among dragonflies but just a simple water snake!

Beautiful shots – the detail is amazing.
Thanks, Lynette. So delighted you love these dragonfly photos, i had lot of fun taking them!
You have patience and a wonderful eye. Beautiful photographs of a fascinating creature.
Thank you so much for your comments – much appreciated. I alway enjoy taking pictures of dragonflies, one good thing about photographing them – should you miss first time just wait for few seconds they usually come back to the same spot! Not the butterflies though!
Very nice series of Dragonfly images Stephen! Enjoyed seeing them!
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed viewing them!
