Cinque Terre means “Five Villages” located along northwest coastal area of Italy. It lies in the west of La Spezia Province, and comprises five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We visited three of the five villages on September 26. It was a lot of walking (14,000+ steps), up and down the hills. We toured Village of Manarola first then took the ferry to Vernazza and finally to Monterosso, the largest of the cinque terre. From there we took a short train ride to Levanto to meet our bus that took us back to Montecateni hotel. So..we used three different transprtation means, bus, boat and train plus the old dependable pair of legs.

A lot of place we recognize, we visited cinque terre in 2019 and it was fantastic.
Beautiful photos of a beautiful area!
Thank you! Lots of walking, glad my old pair of legs still met the challenge.
