Conowingo Dam on lower Sesquehanna River is located in northeastern Maryland, about 90 miles from Washington, DC. Each year in November through December there are a number of migrating bald eagles from the north joining the resident eagles, not unusual to have a total of 200-300 congregate below the dam making a great place for viewing and photographing these national birds. I have been going there in the past several years but still get excited to see how they snatch the fish out of the water and probably by their nature, fighting for the “prize” by the other competitors.
